The repair of the steel staircase has made an impact on how the building is used. The steel staircase that connects the ground floor all the way to the second floor/roof level was previously only accessible from the first floor to the second floor/roof level. The access from the ground floor to the first-floor level was severely damaged with missing steps. The missing steps have since been replaced to match the existing with new steel steps that have been welded on. The landing between the ground floor and first floor has also been given extra support by welding a steel support underneath the landing. The steel stair is now accessible from the ground floor to the second floor/roof level. This alteration now allows not only safety for the occupants but also makes the building more accessible to all the residents.
